Over twenty five years, my partner and I built two businesses from zero — Creature Comforts Veterinary Group and Vetopia Online Store. We grew them, shaped them, and in 2023 completed highly successful exits to separate multinationals. It was everything we'd worked toward.

But the parts of that journey I loved most weren't the exit. They were the moments when a team member stepped into their potential, when a strategy clicked into place, when a business that had been running on adrenaline finally found its footing. Business development and people development — that's where I came alive.

Coaching and consulting founders became the natural next chapter.

I learned that bigger doesn't always equal better. That the most important hires are the deliberate ones — because a great staff member is more like a member of the family than a resource. That systems matter as much as the hustle. That a team who will give you honest, diverse feedback and hold each other accountable is worth more than any strategy document. That you need people around you with complementary skills, not just loyal ones. And that none of it matters if the customer experience isn't at the centre of everything.

These are the things I bring to every client engagement. Not theory — lived experience. If you need a straight answer, you'll get one.

Outside of work, I've used the space that selling the businesses created to focus on what matters most. I love spending time with my family, and travel has become a series of adventures with my husband. I keep fit, keep learning and spend time with friends. I believe strongly that a founder who takes care of themselves takes better care of their business.
